Massage is the Best!

The most common reason for a person to receive a massage is to address physical pain. However, what most people do not realise is the overabundance of health benefits that massage therapy can provide to your overall health and well-being, ultimately leading to a happier, healthier lifestyle. Below are a few reasons as to how and why massage can help you.

Pain reduction

Massage therapy is the most common treatment for acute and chronic back/shoulder/neck pain. For example – regular back massages are perfect for those who work in an office environment, or those suffering from elevated levels of stress or anxiety leading to muscle tension. The elimination of physical pain clears both the body’s pain receptors and the mind.

Joint mobility

Reducing pressure on joints will instantly improve mobility. If you suffer from inflammatory or autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, Lupus, or any other joint affecting diseases, remedial massage therapy can help by relieving pressure and increase flexibility through joint loosing and jiggling,

Improve circulation

Massage improves blood circulation due to the stimulating affect it has on a body. Improving circulation assists the bloodstream to carry oxygen to vital muscles and organs, eliminating waste and detoxifying the body.

Increase your immunity

Massage therapy stimulates the body’s natural defence system, helping the body to fight existing infections, and increasing the body’s ability to fight future diseases and illnesses.

Psychological/Emotional balance

The mental and emotional benefits of massage therapy is limitless. Simply scheduling an hour for yourself to relax reduces anxiety, anger, and can improve sleep patterns.Listening to what your body needs heightens the motivation to take care of it regularly.

For those who are living a fast-paced lifestyle (and frankly who isn’t these days) massage therapy is the perfect way to maintain a sense of balance.

Research continues to show the plethora of benefits of remedial massage therapy. It can help assist neurological diseases, injuries, chronic diseases and relieve the pressures of busy contemporary lifestyles.

Many people who receive massage are aware of most of the benefits of treatment, yet they just simply cannot find the time to treat themselves.

So, I challenge everyone who reads this to honour themselves and go and get a Massage!
